St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation – the philanthropic arm of St. James’s Place Wealth Management Group – has raised and distributed over £100 million to thousands of charities, since 1992.
Bean Research developed and conducted an independent evaluation of St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation for its 25th anniversary, looking at organisational change among its grantees, as well as the difference it has made to their beneficiaries. Bean continues to work with the team to develop its regular monitoring and evaluation, as well as conducting an independent evaluation of impact on an annual basis.
Bean Research has also supported some of its key partners, such as Panathlon, supporting the organisation to develop its own Theory of Change. It also produced its first impact assessment, and was able to demonstrate significant wider ripple effects, over and above direct engagement, and the power of competitive (not just inclusive) sports for young people with disabilities.
“This independent research proves that Panathlon is highly effectively, boosting the self-esteem, confidence, expectations, ambition and social and physical skills of competitors. It also shows that Panathlon has a hugely positive knock-on effect on inclusive PE and sport in schools, and empowers Young Leaders with skills, perspective and unforgettable life experience”.
— Ashley Iceton, CEO, Panathlon
“Bean Research provided a detailed evaluation and impact assessment of the Foundation over 25 years, communicating concisely and clearly.”
— Mark Longbottom, Director, St James’s Place Charitable Foundation
