At the heart of the responsible business concept is the belief that collaboration between business and not-for-profits brings creativity, growth and impact. Those of us in this area have seen it in action many times. However, these collaborations are only sustainable if the reasons for involvement are clear. Bean Research has worked with a number of initiatives and organisations to better understand reasons and benefits for involvement.
As one example, Bean Research, working with the Doughty Centre for Corporate Responsibility at Cranfield School of Management, conducted qualitative research among 15 The Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards business partners to identify, assess and quantify the business case for partnering with the organisation enabling DofE to better articulate its offer and impact, and grow its support.
